But first let's get to the race details:
You might be familiar with Wandering Wolves 25k. Talk about an upgrade. We have taken the 25k lap and gone not twice, not four times, but TWENTY TIMES.
Confused yet? Let's get serious:
Race time: September 20th, 2025, 9:00am
Location: Shelter 16, Wyandotte County Lake Park
Race Length: 500k. 20 X 25k laps.
Race cutoff: The next Saturday at 10am. Yes, you have 169 hours to finish.
Ok hold up what do I get for $1499???
So a lot of races are a little expensive when we are getting into territory like this.
We gotcha: hat, t-shirt, hoodie, pint glass, HUGE buckle, WITH A BELT! Coaster, sunglasses, sticker, enormous amounts of food... yeah, we will have actual meals. Real meals. All dietary needs represented.
We couldn't beat Mile 90 Photos away with a stick. They will be there all week for Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, you get it...
We have a sleep station with A/C (or heat if needed), unlimited alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages.
You're thinking ... that's it? Pffft. You guys are out of your minds.

Legendary author and mountaineer Jon Krakauer will be on site and will run/hike no less than 2 laps of the course. The rest of the time he will be working on a new novel, yet to be named, that will document this event and all of its participants. Your name is guaranteed to be printed, even if you don't finish. You will have a chance to interact with him, autographs, photos, and probably more. Time to be immortalized.
This is a touchy one, some people like them some don't. But in case you do, we have a very high quality tattoo artist on site for a FREE tattoo of your choice, AS A FINISHER. Yes, you must finish for this service.
Samples will be available and you can also pre-determine details. Follow up sessions will also be covered. (we must cap it however: tattoo can be of a medium size, think size of cell phone).
You will be invited to a 4 night stay on a beach in Mexico for the ultimate after-party. Your lodging and airfare are covered, you must get all incidentals of course. More details on this to follow, tentative dates are in January 2026. Must have valid passport and be 21+.
Not a seperate signup option, but if you drop after 10 loops there will be a VERY nice 250k buckle for you, as well as other treats. You will still walk away proud.
The race will conclude one week after it began with a free concert by Death Cab For Cutie. If you weren't aware, Ben Gibbard, the lead singer of Death Cab For Cutie, has run at Wyandotte County Lake Park before.
He has expressed interest in getting in a couple of laps during all of this - but more importantly there will be a free concert around 11am on Saturday September 27th. This will be at least Ben, but may include other members of the band as well. You will also recieve some DCFC swag, custom printed with Wyco concert and date.
